Plane Crazy (1928, Walt Disney Pictures)
The first appearance of Mickey Mouse—and Minnie too!
Mickey takes to the skies in his own makeshift airplane, making several attempts to emulate Charles Lindbergh—and woo Minnie in the process.
In its first iteration as a silent, this single reel short never found a distributor. But after the ensuing success of Mickey's first sound cartoon Steamboat Willie, Disney re-released Plane Crazy with a new soundtrack by Carl Stalling.
